Smoothie Bowls

Hello everyone! Today I want to update my journey of eating more healthy. I have always been a healthy eater. I'm quite conscious of what I eat because I don't like to eat anything that's too oily and if it's a processed food or artificial juice I won't consume it. I'm doing my best to make it a permanent habit of eating fruits everyday. In my last post I said that I would make it a weekly routine to make granolas weekly and it has really helped! I just baked more last Friday! I also love making everything myself just cos the price of buying it at a cafe with cafe price is very expensive. I calculated and the cost of getting an acai/smoothie bowl out is around RM 18-25. With that price I can make the same thing 5-6 times!

So I decided to take some pretty photos cos I love how beautiful a simple smoothie bowl can be presented!

Bowl & Spoon is from Muji !

1st day. I started it out with something simple. The base was made using strawberry yoghurt + frozen strawberries. I added sliced strawberries, blueberries, pumpkin seeds, almonds desiccated coconut and of course my homemade granola. (Recipe in my last post!)

2nd Day. I did the same thing and this time I tried the scatter design. I also realised that eating nuts and seeds is really important in my diet too. Plus it's way better with!

3rd Day. I wanted to try making the base purple, but I'm still in love with the light pink base! I also had extra base so I froze it yesterday. In the morning I just blended it again. For the 4th day, I ate the same thing again but I ran out of yoghurt so I just had it with milk!

5th Day. Since I ran out of yoghurt, I decided to freeze bananas and blend it. I also added some milk in when the blender gets stuck. This is actually the easiest recipe to make a simple dairy free ice-cream or frozen yoghurt imho. I've done it a couple of times in the past. You can add peanut butter if you want. However unmushed bananas are also important cos if you eat too much mushed bananas you will need to go and that's not really what I'm aiming for. I added some honey stars, bananas, pumpkin & sunflower seed and desiccated coconut on top!

If you're on a budget like me, bananas are really cheap and great to eat everyday! Oh and if you see that my granola is not in the smoothie bowl, I actually top it off on top after I'm done taking photos!

In the future I will make my smoothie bowls look even prettier! I have a whole pinterest board to look at for reference. Just wait! I want to start getting more fruits and get them all to look super cute and stuff! I plan to get all kinds of exotic fruits too! I'm really blessed to be living in Malaysia where it's filled with abundance of fruits! So far it has been great to be able to buy a few fruits that I love and is full of antioxidants. My favourite part is definitely decorating it! I'll try my best to make better ones in the future!

XOXO
