Taking the 5 months minimalism challenge

Hello everyone, I have not been very good with controlling my spending habits lately due to too much self rewards and shopping. It has been going on for 2 months straight. So I've decided that enough is enough. Starting on the 25th of July I have decided to be clear with my intentions and simplifying my life. I'm not planning to be a minimalist forever but temporarily because my goal is to practice minimalism until I can achieve most of my goals and by being a minimalist I can save more money and time.

1. My intentions

for being a minimalist is to have more savings and so I can save and travel more. I also have a lot things in my wish list so we shall see how that goes!

2. Duration

My goal is to keep it up for 5 months. 25th July 2019-25th December 2019.

3. Steps I'm taking

Instead of  following what works for everyone else I'm going to do what works for me so the first thing for me is to cut down on a lot of things. This month I have been really good at cutting down on calories and milk due to trying to lose weight and also not feel as bloated when I go for flights and so far it has been so good actually. So here's my full list of more things that I will cut down!

1. Shopping

2. Sugar

3. Bubble tea

4. rice

5. milk

6. coffee 7. Bring my own food

    when I night stop Internationally

4. Exceptions

So here are some things that I will have no choice but to spend money on from time to time.

1. Fixed commitments.

2. skin care products every 3 months.

3. Food supply for night stops.

4. Eyeliner & some makeup for work if I run out.

5. Hanging out with friends. I rarely hang out with my friends and if I do

I will make it an exception you know to have dinner/coffee out.

6. Every end of the month I might purchase something in order to check off some things off my wish list. However most of the things I want right now         aren't that expensive so but I will keep a receipt of every $ I spend!

7. My hair removal package that I have to go every month for 4 more months. It's Musee platinum btw if you're interested. Prior to this it was supposed to be done every 2 months but now they have a new machine so I have to go every month.

I will be back after 5 months to update on my minimalism challenge! I'm honestly very excited to practice minimalism with clear intentions. I have been frugal every time I make a purchase but not without thinking about my bigger goals so sometimes I falter and you know spend that extra cash on unnecessary things. SO this time I feel like I will succeed. Decluttering is more of a monthly side task for me to do because I'm not really trying to downsize my existing things at the moment. Like I'm very happy with the amount of things I already own but I will keep things in check like what Marie Kondo would ask. "Does this spark joy?". If yes keep it. If not discard/donate it. I also found this cute Minimalism wallpaper online and I think everyone who's trying to save more money should save it and use it! I love what it says so much!

Thanks for reading my blog post and take care everyone!

Diana
